Item Description

Three generations of rich yellow dogtooth calcite crystals on this impressive and sculptural large 360-degree specimen from an old French iron mine. The sharp, translucent crystals have frosted prism faces. The floor of 1st generation crystals reach about 3.5 cm. A striking jagged spine of large 2nd generation dogteeth dramatically highlights the piece. These imposing prisms reach 5.3 cm. A 3rd generation of tiny dogteeth crystal is preferentially scattered on the large calcites. Subtle phantoms in many of the crystals add even more allure. Essentially pristine, with only the acceptable basal periphery wear noted. Impressive and totally unexpected ghostly white LW UV fluorescence! An outstanding and aesthetic large multi-generational calcite from the mine.
