Item Description

Two beautiful, sharp, blocky, dark amber calcite rhombs are aesthetically set on a sliver of matrix from the 2009 Chinese find. These caused quite a stir at the 2009 Munich Show and the 2010 Tucson Show. The crystals are very glassy and limpid. Some faces on the larger crystal are water-clear, while others are frosted. The smaller crystal is water-clear. Complete all-around. The piece displays beautifully from both sides and vertically. A bit of scattered bruising is noted, with contacting on one side of the large crystal, but has only minimal impact to this very showy matrix piece. An excellent and highly representative specimen of this find, where the locality in Hubei Province was not divulged for some time.
