Two generations of calcite crystals totally cover this attractive and colorful, 360-degree, mounded small cabinet from the Southwest Mine at famed Bisbee. Smaller, glassy, lustrous and translucent first generation calcite rhombohedrons cover one side and are richly included with light green malachite. The crest and the other side feature a striking, rich second generation covering of glassy, transparent to translucent, colorless to light brown, very thin paper calcite crystals over the underlying first generation light green calcite crystals. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with very few bruised calcites noted, for all the crystal density. Ex Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection, a focus collection well known from exhibits throughout many years on the East Coast. An uncommon and beautiful example of this two generation calcite varietal from the Southwest Mine at Bisbee.
