Item Description

There are literally thousands of localities for Calcite around the world, but these dramatic and iconic specimens from Santa Eulalia stand out as some of the most eye-catching and unique examples of the species from anywhere. This is a very attractive small cabinet specimen featuring sharp dogtooth habit Calcite crystals which are coated / included with dark reddish-brown Hematite, which are gloriously penetrating through a second generation of nearly colorless gemmy, lustrous rhombic Calcite on top. The colorless crystals have striking reddish internal Hematite phantoms / inclusions creating a beautiful two-tone effect. Excellent condition on the display side, though the piece is contacted on the back. These are some of my favorite Calcites for their sheer visceral beauty and the fact that this color combo really makes them stand out from almost anything you've seen. If you collect worldwide Calcites or minerals of Mexico, don't miss out on this attractive display specimen.
