Mineral specimens from this extinct limestone quarry are RARE and this is an outstanding and unusual combination small cabinet from the Bland Collection and Cynthia Payne Calcite Collections. A glorious second generation of gem straw-yellow calcite with stepped-growth and glass-clear smooth faces covers the two intergrown first generation blocky, translucent, white rhombs. Striking and RARE accessories on the backside are rich fields of tiny sparkly pyrites rhombs with glassy colorless third generation calcite disks. Very fine, rare and desirable combination material from this obscure locale.
