Spectacular, RARE, large and sculptural 2-generation calcite from the Waldo tunnel. Bone-white, translucent, smaller, 1st generation dogtooth crystals dominate about 40% of the striking, 3-dimensional mounded piece. Impressive, much larger, pastel-pink, scalenohedrons in a artistic 8.5 cm spray or as striking large crystals with dramatic skeletal terminations really highlight the specimen. Modest pink LW and SW UV fluorescence. In outstanding condition for all the crystal density. The Waldo-Graphic Mine is near the renowned botryoidal blue smithsonite producing Kelly Mine of the Magdalena Mining District. The Waldo tunnel was driven in the early 1900s to intersect the "silver pipe" bed and help develop the Graphic Mine. See the 1989 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 20, No. 1. Formerly in the J.E.
