Calcite (2 generations) on Galena (Gary Weaver Coll.)

Item Description

Two generations of calcite crystals are dramatically and colorfully set on large plate of splendent metallic-gray galena crystals from the famous mines at Naica. First generation spherical aggregates of tiny, sparkly tan calcite rhomb are preferentiallly draped on the galena crystals. A second generation of tiny glassy gray to colorless dogtooth calcite crystals is strikingly deposited atop the first generation calcite balls. Sections of large chalcopyrite crystals on the lower right corner are a fine accessory and contrast. This is a most unusual (color included), very sculptural and rare style of two generations of calcite on galena from Naica. Ex Gary Weaver Collection.
