Item Description

Appealing Tri-State specimen consisting of a prominent well formed and double terminated Calcite crystal surrounded by smaller Calcite scalenohedron all on a limestone matrix. The single sharp Calcite crystal is highly translucent to transparent with a soft golden color and measures 6.7 x 3.1 x 2.2 cm. It contrasts nicely with the isolated clear Calcite points rising up from the matrix. The piece is in near pristine condition with only the slightest of nicks under magnification. A very clean and simple Calcite specimen yet it just has a great sophisticated look. From the calcite collection of Cynthia Payne, itself built on older collections. This likely dates to the 1940s-1960s.
