Item Description

An elegant example of a large, showy calcite from the famous Southwest Mine at Bisbee. Although some are antiques, people were able to go in and find caverns of these, through old adits, on the occasional holidays when security lapsed at the mine. Collecting here underground was a fun thing for mineral collectors to do, up through the 1990s. This is a particularly attractive, space filling, small cabinet sized specimen. Donated by Arizona Natural Science dealership, to the MINDAT auction.
