Dazzling gemmy Calcite twins perfectly balanced on a limestone matrix from the famous Elmwood Mine in Tennessee. These well known Calcite "jewels" are highly sought after for their excellent crystal twinning, clarity and luster. This specimen has 4 crystals varying in size from the smallest at 1.4 cm to the large main crystal at 5.5 cm across. The Calcite crystals are well formed, distinctive and complete showing highly defined twin planes with double terminations. They have a lovely lustrous sparkle that is highlighted by the golden colored terminations that simply glow, especially under lighting. The specimen has a glamorous look that just 'pops'! The Calcites are clean with no visible damage. An Elmwood Calcite that is elegant yet striking and is an exemplary example of the high quality material this mine has produced throughout history.
