Famous for both the color and the style, these classic European calcites from a 1988 discovery are true collectors items that we almost never see for sale anymore! Some of the most beautifully formed calcite crystals in the world occurred at the Malmberget mine in Lappland, Sweden - and then they were gone. No more came out! This particular style came only from one pocket collected 25 years ago! This lovely scalenohedron of lustrous and translucent, amber colored calcite is nearly pristine, save for minor contact at the base It is a European classic, and immediately recognizable to any serious mineral lover. They were traded around initially only in very small circles and as exchanges from the major discoverer and a few collecting friends of the discoverer, Peter Lyckberg, and priced at their weight in gold.
