Item Description
Calcite specimens from the many modern specimen-producing mines China are about as varied and colorful as you will find anywhere in the world. This is an attractive small cabinet sized matrix display specimen of the elusive Calcites found around 2010 in a coal mine in Daye Co., Hubei, China. Very few of these are available on the market now, and they some of the most distinctive crystals of Calcite from any Chinse locality. The piece hosts a few very well-formed, rather sharp, gemmy, lustrous, rich golden colored trigonal crystals of Calcite measuring up to 4.6 cm across, sitting on a small amount of matrix. No major damage, but there are a few small imperfections / bruises. These pieces came out for a very short time, and haven't been found again, so don't miss out on adding this one to your Calcite suite or your collection of Chinese minerals. Valued $950.
