Item Description

Gorgeous sharp, adamantine, honey-colored, jewel-like crystals of Calcite perched on matrix. The largest compressed trigonal crystal of Calcite measures 4.1 x 2.5 x 3.1 cm and the smaller crystal at 3.0 x 2.3 x 2.1 cm. These Calcites are complete all around with only one tiny imperfection present on these near-pristine crystals. The isolated nature of the crystals combined with their gemmy, ultra sharp crystalline form makes for a striking complete 360 degree display specimen. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl. This is an attractive display quality specimen of Calcite from a discovery in a coal mine in Daye, in Hubei, China, from circa 2010. Superb crystal definition of the Calcites here are distinctive for the species and for Chinese Calcites. Nothing else look like these Calcites from anywhere else in China.
