Item Description

Two parallel-growth, calcite scalenohedrons exhibit glassy luster with gemmy terminations. The color is a rich golden amber and at the base of the crystals it is clearly evident that there were three distinct generations of calcite formation when you look up from underneath. This is part of what gives such a rich hue. The specimen is cleaved at the terminations slightly (as many are, but its a shame), and this detracts from value but it is still a pretty piece. Otherwise in good shape save for some minor peripheral wear. 1200 grams. This mine is now closed
