Item Description

Sculptural, diverging large calcite scalenohedrons are aesthetically and colorfully accented by the many smaller calcites and the very spare basalt matrix covered with crust of green Celadonite, a Mica Group species. The impressive large translucent calcites, to 9.0 cm, are enhanced by the satin luster stepped-growth faces. The two large calcites have gently bruised terminations and a few broken smaller broken calcites are noted. These are certainly modest detractions to this artistic piece. Neon-orange calcite fluorescence. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock. A classic and very showy large two-sided calcite from the well-known basalt deposits at Irai.
