Item Description
This strange, deeply colored calcite is from an old find that ended up dispersed among a number of collectors in the 1960s or 1970s. It is a gorgeous crystal, complete all around. We see Calcite in a variety of colors, but rarely as a rich burnt orange like this - so it is good and unique from ANY locality! This is from a very famous area but an obscure mineral locality in Baja California that isn't even represented on mindat; and we only see turn up in the old collections of people around at the time like Romero, Meieran, and Halpern (all of which have had a similar specimen).
