Item Description
A fascinating intergrown sculptural network of individual hexagonal Calcite crystals, dramatically displayed on a limestone matrix. The Calcite crystals travel 180 degrees across the front of the specimen in a pinwheel fashion around the matrix making an artistic aesthetic display. Each crystal is coated with yellowish brown iron staining but has a clear translucent glassy window pane center. Some minor edge wear but overall the crystals are in excellent shape - and reach over 8 cm across! This is from a covid-era find in 2020, and was striking and unusual, so we bought some via video in China at the time. This would be one of the better specimens in the size range.
