A classic Elmwood calcite with two highly lustrous, honey-colored tips on the gemmy crystals. The overall quality of the crystals and the visual combination of the dynamic main crystal with a second elegant 9 cm intergrown crystal is what makes this such an aesthetic piece. The main crystal is 12 cm and doubly-terminated! This is old school material, no lab, only cleaned with water, from the old collection of Houston dealers Dalton and Consie Prince. I bought it from them long ago. The tips are all essentially complete with only some subtle edge nicks. The base of the specimen shows the contact where the crystals were growing on the matrix in the pocket, but is not visible from the display side, which is perfect. It is a dramatic example, and from an old style of the 1980s. Valued $3500-5000.
