Item Description

The Cripple Creek District in Colorado was one of the most prolific telluride producing mining districts in the United States. Telluride species from this area are highly sought after by collectors. Nifty dendritic clusters and scattered smaller clusters of microcrystalline grass-yellow calaverite are scattered on the front of the solid specimen of cubic, microcrystalline, pretty lavender fluorite crystals. This association with purple Fluorite is NOT typical. These specimens are very difficult to obtain, and considering that the majority of them were mined over 100 years ago, the only source for specimens is old collections. Very rich and uncommon combination material. Both species fluoresce. Ex Dennis Mullane Collection and comes with a faded Minerals Unlimited label dating to the 1940s and 50s. Value?? A must for the Colorado or species collector.
