Item Description

Cafarsite is an ultra rare, hydrated arsenite and this very fine, sharp crystal is from the Type Locality in the Binn Valley of Switzerland. This 9 mm, lustrous, sub-metallic, rust-brown crystal is a well formed modified cube with octahedral faces and is expertly perched on the shoe-shaped matrix. This is an outstanding example of species, large and very lustrous compared to most. Cafarsite was not recognized until 1966. This is from a find of around 2002. Valued $450-500.
