Classic, densely intergrown, curved, saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs are replaced with straw-yellow cadmium-rich smithsonite on this impressive, rich and sculptural plate from this famous locale. The very modest bruising reveals the bone-white dolomite or smithsonite not fully cadmian, beneath the smithsonite. This is an aesthetic and excellent example from the Rush Creek District. Older material collected in the 1960s or 70s. Valued at $400-600.
