Yellow, cadmium-included smithsonite has pseudomorphed classic saddle-shaped dolomite crystals on this showy and excellent specimen from the famous mines of the Rush Creek District of Arkansas. Very fine smithsonite microcrystals then coat the larger saddles giving them a slightly furry appearance. The smithsonite pseudos are well presented against a sparkling drusy micro-quartz coating the limestone matrix plate, making this a particularly good example from this location.
