Item Description
Yellow cadmium-rich smithsonite is among the rarest and most desirable smithsonite varietals from the famed extinct Tsumeb Mine. Large, sharp, translucent and lustrous, honey-yellow rhombohedrons are aesthetically mounded on this showy and rich small cabinet. The large rhombs are highlighted by striking edge phantoms and preferential overgrowths of tiny dogtooth rhombs on some faces add even more allure. The commanding large rhomb on crest is 3.3 cm on the diagonal. Periphery wear on the back side is out-of-sight. Smithsonite is a crown jewel species from Tsumeb and has produced an amazing diversity of crystal habits and styles in a striking rainbow of colors. But this particular color and style is only RARELY available in this aesthetic quality, richness and color.
