Cacoxenite on Beruanite (ex Pat Gross and Rich Kosnar Collections)

Item Description

Micro golden-orange acicular Cacoxenite sits atop bronze-brown colored Beraunite from the historic and significatn phosphate locality at Moore's Mill in Cumberland County, PA. I found a website detailing the locality for anybody interested in the history (http://www.pennminerals.com/Chronicles). The piece came to Rich Kosnar from his mentor, noted New Jersey collector Frances Patricia "Pat" Gross, and her original black plastic mounting box accompanies the piece. A cool specimen of this classic material. The recorded date on the piece says it was mined in 1936 and was a gift from Len Morgan in 1984.
