Item Description

A nice reference specimen from the famous Miage Glacier in Italy consisting of hundreds of needle-like strands of blue-green Actinolite (var Byssolite) which are associated with minor green Epidote crystals and small white crystals of either Calcite or Adularia in the center of the specimen. The Miage Glacier is a debris-covered glacier (the largest in Europe) which is found in northwestern Italy on the southwest part of the Mont Blanc massif. The locality is well known for its Alpine minerals.
