Nifty soft tufts of hair-like fibers variable olive-green of byssolite, a variety of the Amphibole Supergroup, cover the albite crystal matrix on this showy and excellent combination from the Mervyn Ford Collection. Two labels state that the piece from Champorcher, Italy. MINDAT does not list this species for the locale. Probably from the well-known Miage Glacier area.
