Item Description

A striking and beautiful, VERY RARE, V-twinned, butterfly calcite crystal from an uncommon Nevada locality in the Carlin District. This stunning cutie looks just like the sought-after calcites from the famous finds at the 884 Mine in China about 10 years ago. Both terminations are pristine, but a trivial bit of edgewear is noted, mostly on one wing. Possibly a unique Nevada calcite. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
