Butterfly-twinned Egremont calcite crystals are a very desirable English classic. This very glassy, transparent to translucent crystal has a well-defined twinning plane and beautiful striated termination faces. Half of the crystal has classic textbook form with the other half and part of the back being contacted, where other crystals once lay and have no damage, per se. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of edge wear. A very fine, highly representative old-time example of the famous form and locality. MUCH better in person!
