A classic, old-time butterfly-twinned calcite crystal from the historic iron mines of Cumbria. This excellent crystal has high luster, gemminess and striking complex faces. The dusting/etching of iron oxides on the front adds much character. Complete all-around and in excellent shape. You can barely tell, that the lower left corner of the crystal is gently cleaved. Comes with a custom-made baked clay base. Ex Scott Williams Collection and Joe Freilich Collection # 111 and illustrated on page 83 of the 2001 Sotheby's auction catalogue.
