Butlerite and parabutlerite are ULTRA RARE hydrated iron sulfates. Lustrous, translucent, orange-brown butlerite and parabutlerite prisms to 2 mm RICHLY cover matrix on this EXCELLENT example of these rare species. This showy piece is from the VERY LESS WELL-KNOWN Kavir-e-Sagand area of Iran and was collected in the 1970s expeditions by Pierre Bariand of the Sorbonne. RARELY available material, today.
