Bustamite w/ Galena (Trimingham Coll.)

Item Description

Bustamite is one of the principal manganese silicate ore minerals at Broken Hill and this is a fine, rich and showy example from this famous deposit. A pristine, 4.3 cm, doubly terminated, partially translucent, lustrous, tangerine-orange crystal is jauntily set in the side of a much large, partially euhedral crystal with embedded galena. Both ends of the large crystal are broken, but the lower end is partially terminated. Choice and excellent combination material. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
