Item Description

Bumble Bee Jasper comprises separate minerals, i.e., Anhydrite, Hematite, Orpiment, Sulfur, Arsenic and nearly 20 others from what we've read. Some people have called this material Agate, but considering there are over 100 names for cryptocrystalline or massive uncrystallize Quartz varieties, we'll just leave it as Jasper, as most have called it. I actually read one report that says there might be more carbonate material than Quartz. The lovely patterns on this stone often imitate the coloring found on bumblebees, hence the name. This tumbled "egg"-shaped piece shows beautiful color banding with vivid colors. It is a SUPERB example of Bumble Bee Jasper and it certainly is a great overall piece of this highly sought after and rare material. Beautiful coloration and patterning, and it would look great in a curio cabinet or shelf for display. I found a piece online priced at $6 per gram ( http://tinyurl.com/pbtk6kz ), and this piece is BETTER quality in my mind, so it could legitimately retail for around $1,000.
