Item Description
Agate is found all over the globe, typically in banded examples, sometimes with attractive layered patterns, and other times showing more concentric forms. This beautiful gem comes from a limited discovery in 2020 in Java, Indonesia. We actually bought the entire production, and haven't been offered any more since that time. These stones were are a beautiful style of Agate that was locally marketed as "Bullseye Agate". This stone features a rich, saturated, orange-red core of translucent Agate (possibly Chalcedony) with a gorgeous banded pattern (best seen with backlighting) surrounded by a crystalline white Quartz exterior. It almost reminds me of the cross-section of an egg, with a saturated dark yolk in the center. This is unique material, unlike anything I've seen before, and would make a great addition to any gem collection, or as the center stone for a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry.
