Item Description
The world-famous Wessels Mine in South Africa has produced some iconic mineral specimens over the years, including some of the most beautiful Brucites ever found, some with vivid aqua blue color. This piece isn't as much about the Brucite, but rather the association. You can see small spherical groups of pastel green pearly Brucite in the central portion of the specimen, but they are sitting on white to colorless, translucent GYPSUM crystals, which is the first and only piece I've seen with these two minerals together from Wessels. The Gypsum crystals are rounded, and not 100% pristine, but it's a big deal to see these two minerals together from this locality. If you collect South African minerals or specifically pieces from the Kalahari Manganese Field, don't miss out on this one.
