Item Description
Sculptural and quite literally eye-candy, this cluster of pure Brucite, a Mg-hydroxide found in metamorphic rocks such as metasediments, marbles, and magnesian skarns, is from Pakistan's great finds of the last decade. These aggregates of trigonal Brucite grade from lustrous white crystals to highly lustrous and vivid, lemon-yellow crystals that simply pop visually. Not only are the Brucites attractive, but from one angle the sculptural aspects of this large miniature give it the look of a dancing marionette. Such brightness and intense color has placed this locality's Brucites among the best in the world, and this is a splendent and highly representative miniature from this discovery. Recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection.
