Brucite

These beautiful Brucites are from the recent finds in Pakistan, and are definitely among the most colorful examples known for the species, with the intense yellow color having never been seen from any world locality. Virtually the entire plate of this large, small cabinet specimen is composed of these glassy, translucent, lemon-yellow Brucite botryoids. Brucite, Mg-hydroxide, is found in metamorphic rocks such as metasediments, marbles and magnesium-rich skarns, and the glorious yellow color of these finds is a first. Originally, these were thought to be from Kharan, but we had a source tell us they're actually from Killa Saifullah District, so it's possible that the Brucites were brought to market in Kharan and errantly thought to be from there in the beginning (of which this was one of the earlier pieces from about 4 years ago).
