Brookite with Quartz (ex Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection)

Item Description

This piece dates back to a find in the mid 2000s. These impressive Brookite specimens are some of the finest quality "Alpine-type" Brookites from any world locality. They are unmistakably reminiscent of the finest TRUE ALPINE Brookite specimens from the Italian and Swiss Alps. It's important to stress that many of the Pakistani crystals are just as sharp, lustrous, gemmy and colorful, and often larger and better quality than their European counterparts. If these new specimens from Pakistan were found in the Italy or Switzerland, they would be worth thousands (!) of dollars apiece to knowledgeable collectors. That's how good they are. This particular specimen features a pair of superb quality, sharp, lustrous, tabular, deep flame red colored Brookite crystals in parallel growth associated with Quartz crystals on one side. When backlit, the color comes through on the edges, and the center of the crystals feature a classic internal black "phantom" for which these crystals are known. A small nick can be seen on the termination, but overall still a lovely example of these wonderful Brookites.
