Brookite with Quartz

Item Description

A striking, 3.2 cm highly lustrous, mahogany-colored Brookite blade rests in a very prominent position between the light colored matrix and a row of lustrous, tabular Quartz crystals on this attractive piece from the alpine clefts of Pakistan. The translucent, almost glowing, sharply formed, brown-orange Brookite is actually a very tight fan of slightly divergent crystals that are front-and-center on the piece. A light tan matrix hosts the big Brookite and there is a smaller, partial Brookite crystal off to the left. Two wide, consecutive rows of glassy, tabular Quartz crystals are arranged above the Brookite and part of the termination juts into the first row of bladed Quartz for dramatic effect. This impressive piece, with such complexity, is nearly pristine in frontal view. It is a fine piece from a small series of finds starting in 2007.
