Brookite on Quartz (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic old specimen of the famous crystals of Brookite from Magnet Cove. Several sharp, well-formed, pseudo-octahedral (orthorhombic) crystals of Brookite measuring up to 7 mm sit aesthetically on prismatic grey colored Quartz crystal matrix. Interestingly, there is a distinct purple iridescence that can be seen when the Brookite is rotated in the light, although I have no idea what could be causing it. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9821). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
