Brookite on Quartz (classic material)

Item Description

A lovely, classic old-time matrix display specimen of these famous crystals of Brookite from Magnet Cove, Arkansas. Several lustrous, sharp, well-formed, pseudo-octahedral, "pagoda"-esque crystals of Brookite measuring up to 7 mm, sit aesthetically on white-grey colored Quartz matrix. No major damage I can find, and it's a very showy and eye-catching example of these notably different looking Brookite crystals from this famous locality.
From the worldwide mineral collection of Albert Lewis Kidwell (January 1, 1919 - August 16, 2008). Al was a well-known mineral collector and research geologist with Carter Oil Company and later Exxon Oil Company in Houston, Texas. The phosphate species Kidwellite was named in his honor in 1974 ( https://www.mindat.org/photo-326405.html ).
