Brookite on Quartz

Good crystallized Brookite specimens are fairly rare around the world, especially fine crystals on matrix. The pieces that starting coming out of Pakistan in the early 2000s are some of the finest quality "Alpine-type" Brookites ever found. These specimens are quite similar to the genuine Alpine Brookite specimens from the Italian and Swiss Alps. The Pakistani pieces feature crystals which are just as sharp, lustrous, gemmy and colorful as anything from Europe. This miniature specimen features a few sharp, lustrous, very thin, tabular Brookite crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm with associated Quartz on matrix. The Brookites are nearly opaque, but you can see a tiny bit of fiery orange color on the edges with some good backlighting. The main crystal is undamaged, but some of the smaller crystals have small contacts. Good quality and showy.
