Brookite (gemmy ''phantom'' crystals)

These "Alpine-type" Brookite specimens came out of Pakistan in the early 2000s, and they are starting to dwindle and disappear fast from the market. They are in many respects, identical to the classic true Alpine Brookite specimens from Italy and Switzerland. I was thrilled when these Brookite specimens first hit the market because it allowed collectors to get their hands on a display quality specimen of a species that is not often found in displayable pieces. Keep in mind that most of the European Alpine Brookite crystals are SMALL, and you don't get showy pieces like those from Pakistan. . This specimen features several excellent quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, thin tabular crystals of Brookite measuring up to 1.2 cm associated with minor Quartz on matrix. When backlit, the Brookite crystals show a fiery orange-red color, with classic black internal "phantoms" that run the length of the crystals. These "phantoms" are incredibly similar to those seen in the classic European Brookites. No real damage that I can see and it's fun to view up close. A fine quality specimen of this now hard to find material. Priced in the inventory at $950 retail.
