Brookite (fine quality) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A FINE quality and showy matrix piece of the classic Brookites from Magnet Cove. The standard that sets apart the good from the great pieces in my mind is luster. The crystals on this specimen have superb luster for the material with a slick metallic appearance. The crystals are notably sharp with a silvery-grey hue and good form. The largest Brookite measures 8 mm and they are associated with Quartz on matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2553). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive display specimen from this classic locality.
