This famous Russian mine is renowned for superior ferroaxinites and smoky quartz specimens and has also produced very fine brookites. A glassy, gemmy, 1.7 cm, classic clove-brown brookite blade is nicely set in the vuggy calcite matrix. Calcite is rare from here, making this an uncommon and excellent combination. The tip of the brookite is lightly bruised. The piece displays very well without aid. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by Herb at $400, more than five years ago.
