Item Description
Embolite is an old-time synonym of bromian chlorargyrite. This is an EXTREMELY RICH and SHOWY specimen of this very rare silver species, with superb discrete crystals, from the classic and best locality of old Broken Hill. This piece is rich bromian chlorargyrite, with a unique coral-like form! Crystals richly invest both sides of the piece. The coco-brown crystals have excellent waxy luster and a nifty gossan "cap" tops the piece. This is a rare member of the group of related silver chlorides from Broken Hill, and hard to obtain today in good specimens. This super piece was probably mined in the 1940s or earlier, as it comes with an older Wards label. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. Valued at $750-850, for quality and richness.
