Item Description

VERY RARE combination material from a most obscure Argentina locale. MINDAT lists the locale, but there are NO photos of any species in the locality Gallery. Tiny flecks of black Bromargyrite, AgBr, to 2 mm, a member of the Chlorargyrite Group are noted at both ends of the lamellar gray matrix. The matrix is Bismutite, a common secondary Bismuth carbonate. Scaly to lamellar aggregates, such as this, are rare according to MINDAT. Ex David Burgess Collection and acquired from respected rarities dealer Josef Vajdak (Pequa Minerals). The species Burgessite is named after him.
