Brochantite with Chalcoalumite (classic material)

Here we have a hard to find old classic from this now extinct mine that existed inside of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The label accompanying this piece states that it features Cyanotrichite with Brochantite and Chalcoalumite, but I cannot find a crumb of Cyanotrichite, so it appears to only have Brochantite with Chalcoalumite. With that said, well-crystallized specimens like this one are few and far between on the market today, especially because specimens haven't come out in many decades. This specimen is filled with dozens of excellent, lustrous, "needles" of deep emerald green Brochantite and very minor pale greenish-blue Chalcoalumite on matrix. You can see that we've provided some great micro photos of the Brochantite crystals. This is a very rare opportunity to own a unique and attractive species from one of the more interesting localities in the United States. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
