Item Description

Tiny, sparkly emerald-green brochantite needles are festooned on the vuggy, undulating sintered-looking matrix on this colorful and sculptural small cabinet from this long abandoned Cu-Pb-Au-Ag-Zn-Fe mine. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Brochantite specimens of this quality, richness and sized are VERY RARE from the War Eagle Mine. A must for the species or locality collector. We have not seen these for sale and given the man and his areas of interest in field collecting in California, I would bet money he self-collected this. It was the best example of several in his personal collection when it passed on to us and is a highly unusual California mineral!
