Brochantite (rare) and Fluorite (Fioravanti Coll.)

Item Description

An important, very rich and rare brochantite specimen from this well-known Sardinian mine, closed since 1980. Sparkly spherical aggregates of gemmy, emerald-green brochantite crystals fill the large sculptural vug in quartz matrix. A glassy, field of colorless fluorite cubes is below the vug. The 2.0 cm vug on the back has golden-amber, iron oxide-tinted, fluorite cubes. Bright blue linarites on noted on both the front and back. Very fine, very rich and rare combination material from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and purchased in Sardinia in 1977.
