Brochantite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

An unusual large miniature / small cabinet specimen of somewhat velvety rich green prismatic Brochantite crystals with minor matrix. Some of the crystals have a somewhat "sword"-shaped form, but several of them are not complete. Unfortunately there was not further locality information on the label outside of "Chile", and it's really difficult to ascertain exactly where it came from as there are MANY localities for the species in just in the Antofagasta and Atacama Regions alone! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1596). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
